HAPPENINGS AT BROOKDALE:
We are looking for your feedback. This year, we initiated a different Curriculum Night setup and established a stronger arrival and dismissal procedure for our Car Rider Lane. Click on this link to complete this brief survey to share your feedback so we can improve our procedure for both initiatives.

• We ask all families to refrain from bringing their dogs to school during arrival and departure each day. Many people are afraid of animals and when there are unfamiliar situations, dogs can be unpredictable in their reactions. We want to protect our students, families and family pets! We appreciate your understanding in following this request.

Sunday is the deadline to sign up for the Annual Naperville Kids Marathon Charity Partner Program on October 19, 2019. Every student runs 25 miles, one mile at a time, between sign-up and race day and keeps track on an individual mileage log. Students run the final 1.2 miles of their marathon at Neuqua Valley High School on October 19, 2019. Each Team IPEF kids charity runner makes a $26 donation ($1 for every mile). Half of those funds go to the school they represent and the other half helps to support district wide initiatives made possible by the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation. As of Monday, we have 11 runners who will represent Brookdale. The school with the most runners get an additional $1000!!!

• We continue to see a positive impact on our Car Lane arrival and dismissal procedure. However, we are finding there are drivers who are parking the car in the car lane at dismissal. Frequently, the drivers doing this are grandparents or caretakers - not Brookdale Parents. Please make sure to communicate to anyone and all who pick up your child the established procedures at Brookdale.

• Please remember, the parking lot is restricted to only buses, day care vans and carpools during the times of 8:40am to 9:15am and 3:15pm to 3:45pm. We appreciate everyone following this expectation.

• Follow Brookdale School on Twitter @BrookdaleBobcat. We use #Brookdalepride to show all the fun and cool things going on at Brookdale Elementary and the community!
