HAPPENINGS AT BROOKDALE:

• We hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy the weekend weather! Will it continue to be spring???

• Per District protocol, all medication and supplies kept in the health office must be pick up on the last day of school, Thursday, June 6th. Anything remaining at school not picked up by Friday, June 7th will be disposed of. If your child/ren will be keeping medication in the health office during the 2019-2020 school year, new physician orders will be required. Please contact Nurse Lynn should you have any questions/concerns.

• Registration is now open for students to represent our school as a charity hero with Team IPEF in the Naperville Kids Marathon next fall. Students must be between the ages of 5-13 on race day, and commit to running/walking 25 miles (one mile at a time) between now and October 18 and track their miles. On Saturday, October 19, they run/walk the final 1.2 miles at Neuqua Valley High School and will enjoy a wonderful celebration of accomplishment. All participants receive a shirt and finisher medal. Register at this link and select our school for your student to represent. The school with the most kids running will win $1000! See attached mileage log.

• Have you heard about the first fundraiser we are holding to help raise money for Brookdale's Team IPEF?? We have 13 Runners who have committed to raise money for IPEF and Brookdale. Throughout the month of May, students and families are encouraged to bring in any loose change and place in one of six jugs to vote on which staff member will dye their hair the last week of school. The staff who are in the running are Mrs. Brooks (blue hair), Mr. Rust (blue hair), Mrs. Fustenau (purple hair), Mr. Schumann (green hair), Mrs. Supel (purple hair) and Mrs. Howicz (pink hair). The staff member with the most money in their jug on May 31st will dye their hair for the last week of school! And Mr. Tabisz agreed to dye his hair if we raise a total of $250!!! If you would like to donate outside of this contest, please use this link. We are very excited about seeing who the students want to see with colored hair!!!

• Have you begun registration for your child(ren)? At this time, we have The first and simplest step is to complete your online registration information through Home Access Center. Feel free to send in your paperwork (health card, fee statement, and arrival/departure form) after completing online registration to the office with your child. If you need to send in proofs of residency, we ask you visit the office or send documents via email to Mrs. Minch or Mrs Fiala. Please call us with any questions.

• After completing your on-line registration, you will receive an email saying your submission is accepted, pending or denied. If your submission is pending or denied, you will need to go back into Home Access Center and fix the errors or missing information as indicated in the email. Your child is not considered fully registered until you receive an accepted email from the district. We appreciate families to watch for this email and follow the directions as indicated, if necessary.

• Please feel free to use the attached Parent Input Form to share input on what type of teacher or environment your child requires to learn best. Please know that any form that is returned with a request for a specific teacher will be denied and returned. As we make classroom lists for next school year, we will refer to these input forms and do our best to meet the needs as suggested. Please know that no form will be accepted after May 31, 2019 as the class lists are already being formed by that time.

• The PTA is looking for your feedback. Please consider completing this survey to help the PTA support our students in the best way possible. Responses to the survey will be used in summary to help guide next year's calendar and events individual responses will be kept confidential.
