PTA Fall Party Information for 10/31/18
We are excited to hold our PTA Fall Party this Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Although this party falls on Halloween, we are not celebrating this holiday but rather having a fall focus in the parties. Children are encouraged to wear fall or holiday shirts but costumes, masks or decorating make-up are not allowed during the school day.
Also, if you are volunteering for the PTA Party, please know that we need all parents to sign the attached Volunteer Application Form and have their IDs scanned prior to the start of the party. If you have not had your ID scanned this school year, please try to stop in any day this week prior to the party to limit any delay you would have into getting to the party on time. You can print off the form and bring with you if we have not received one this year. The Volunteer Application form is required by IPSD #204 annually.
This message is for all of our PTA Party Volunteers for tomorrow, October 31:
We take the safety of our students very seriously. With the goal of maintaining a safe and orderly dismissal, especially after a PTA party, our leadership team discussed how we can assure we were doing all we can to make it a safe experience for all involved.
Tomorrow, after volunteers check in with their IDs beginning at 2:10pm as we have typically done, we will have grade level sign-out sheets in the hallway as well. Parents will be asked to sign out their child at this time (if necessary) and will be given a grade level ticket with the child's name on it. We will not have parents go to each individual classroom to sign out children prior to or during the party, as has been the practice in past years. Once the party begins, no other tickets will be issued for early dismissal. Students will be dismissed in their regular fashion and parents will be directed to the office.
By 3:20pm, parents are to go to individual classroom and retrieve the student as marked on the ticket. We ask that parents then leave the school at that time through door 1 or 11 (toward the front of the building - parking lot side). No parent will be allowed to go out the back doors with a child (doors 10 and 9).
We encourage parents to consider meeting their child outside on the playground if this is the typical dismissal procedure. Early dismissal should be considered for those students who typically go home on a bus, in a carpool or go to day care after school each day.
We appreciate your understanding and support in making sure our dismissal is safe and orderly.
